In September 2024, I made my way to AFMM from Hauts de France, which is the northern part between Paris and Lille. 30 years ago, I had my
first encounter with Alliance Française in Lima, Peru. After studying history and civilization at the university of Charles de Gaulle in
Lille, and management of cultural institutions in Paris, and being a teacher at the start of my career. In 2007, I had the privilege
of leading the Alliance Française of Piura, Peru and went on to serve in Lahore, Pakistan in 2011 and Asuncion, Paraguay in
2017.
My personal experience has taught me the importance of being polyglot and how essential it has been for my career. To understand the world,
accept differences, and tolerance; communication is of paramount importance. It has been my aim to promote French culture and language
through the international network of Alliance Française and will continue to do so in Miami.
Each professional experience has enriched my knowledge and opened many doors for me. Miami has extended my reach and provided with this
exceptional opportunity to promote France and share savoir-faire with students, artists, intellectuals and connect people around the world
through French from "The Magic City”.
Bonjour, hello, hola,
Moving to the USA in 2006 was a big challenge! First living in Los Angeles, then Boston and back to Los Angeles, as my sons were studying
there.I was teaching Spanish in Middle and High School in Los Angeles and French in language centers. In 2017, Alliance Française Los
Angeles was looking for a school coordinator. I took the opportunity and I enjoyed it! Since then, it is a pleasure to
work with Alliance Française and be in contact with all the students. From now on, it is with a lot of enthusiasm that I will
work with you in Miami!
Bonjour !
You may already know me as a French teacher at the Alliance Française, a role I started in September 2022. A few months later, I also joined
the administrative team, and since then, I have been balancing both roles, providing support on pedagogical and cultural aspects while
continuing to teach. I am delighted to work in Miami, where I have the opportunity to engage with key players in the Francophone community
and our students.
The best of both worlds!
All of our teachers are trained to teach French.
Bonjour! I am Florence.
Born in Belgium, one of the smallest countries in Europe and famous for its chocolate, I have lived in the US for over 20 years.
After a career as a lawyer I went back to school to earn a degree as ‘Professeur de Français Langue Etrangère’ (FLE teacher). I
was always passionate about the French language and culture. Today, I enjoy sharing my passion and look forward welcoming you at AFMM.

Bonjour ! My name is Sarah. I grew up between Belgium, France and Portugal. My background is in Sociology. I thus love learning about different cultures. This passion made me travel to Canada and work with sled dogs in the Artic for a Winter! My passion for teaching came after working in the corporate sector. I went back to university to obtain my teaching degree and started teaching social sciences in high school. I then moved to Canada and started teaching French as a second language and became passionate about it. My learners are my best teachers, making me reflecting deeper each time on my own native language. I taught French for four years in Canada, at Alliance française of Toronto, before joining the Miami's Alliance team in 2024. I am also a professional photographer. Can't wait to meet my new students! See you soon!
