offered entirely online through distance learning, making it accessible to candidates regardless of location.
The scholarship will cover all registration fees and tuition for candidates who are selected and admitted to the program ICEFI within the University of the West Indies. If the student successfully passes the first year of the master’s program, the scholarship may be renewed for the second year.
*Institut Caribéen d’Etudes Francophones et Interculturelles-Faculte des Lettres et Sciences Humaines,Université des Antilles. (Caribbean Institute of Francophone and Intercultural Studies, Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, University of the West Indies).
Description of the program:
The program is designed for American and international teachers or aspiring educators who wish to enhance their professional skills in FLE and, more broadly, in language didactics. It prepares participants to teach French as a foreign language within the U.S. educational system.
This master's program is particularly relevant to the linguistic and educational contexts of the Americas and the Caribbean. It explores key issues such as teaching in multilingual environments—such as Creole, English, and Spanish-speaking settings—language and education policy, and innovative pedagogical approaches.
The master's degree in Didactics and Management of French as a Foreign or Second Language (FLE/FSL) in a Multilingual Environment is a nationally recognized French diploma, awarded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The program spans two years: the first year (M1) confers a graduate-level diploma equivalent to a "master's 1," while the second year (M2) leads to the completion of the full master’s degree.
Semester 1 runs from mid-September to mid-January, and Semester 2 from mid-January to mid-June. Final results are published in July. Credits earned in individual courses are retained, even if the student does not pass the entire semester and must repeat.
