The Jacques Brion Scholarship Learn to Teach

This scholarship supports teachers seeking accreditation to teach French as a Foreign Language (FLE).

Eligible Applicants Must:

  • Be a teacher* whose academic goals require proficiency in French, or
  • Be a passionate Francophile who embraces the #livefrench #lovefrench #learnfrench lifestyle and has a clear project to teach francophone culture.

*Priority will be given to teachers of AFMM classes, extended to the Miami bilingual schools (homologuées or LabelFrancÉducation)

Selection Criteria:
The AFMM Scholarship Committee will consider financial need, academic merit, and alignment between the applicant’s career goal and the study of French language.

Funding Details:

  • Scholarship funds may cover full or partial tuition.
  • No direct cash awards will be issued to recipients.
  • Payments will be made directly to cover eligible costs, including registration fees, course enrollment, textbooks, or approved project expenses.

  • A written essay in English of 600 words maximum, describing reasons for applying, career plans, and how this program will help them achieve their objectives and contribute to the community.
  • A concise, factual summary of the specific program.
  • A letter of recommendation from faculty.
